Over the next few months, I’m going to start posting my original illustrations for ‘Bird Brain’. Although I conceived and created all the illustrations in the book, unfortunately Ivy Press felt they had to adapt the illustrations into their ‘house style’ with known illustrators to give the book the look that was associated with their previous volumes. In many cases, the differences between my originals and the published versions are quite difficult to discern, whereas others are in a completely different watercolored style. The two following illustrations do not appear in the book in any form, so present a nice teaser of what’s to come.
